Red Bedroom

The inspiration for this room came from a design based on 15th & 16th C. Venetian cut velvet which was adapted and repeated as a painted motif around the walls. The base colour is a wonderful rich red called simply 'Rouge'. An old BBC scenic paint colour made by Bolloms. The pattern took 90 hours to paint... The patchwork quilt was made by me as was the rather extravagant velvet box pelmet.
